minus-squarepeoplebeproblems@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·15 days agoI wear glasses and I still see this at night Does that mean something is wrong with my eyes other than astigmatism
minus-squareCroquette@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up3·14 days agoIt’s normal to see some halo around a light at night. What isn’t normal, is to see a distortion of the light as depicted in OP’s image. If you see that the light is distorted more on one axis, that means you have some kind of astigmatism. I have a little bit of astigmatism and it is nowhere near what OP’s picture depicts.
minus-squarebrbposting@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·15 days agoHey buddy try scheduling an eye appointment next time funds are available, would be a natural next step (at least in an equitable world)
minus-squarepeoplebeproblems@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·15 days agoFunds aren’t a problem, it’s actually thinking about it and doing it. So I guess I’m going to get an appointment scheduled lol
minus-squareInfynis@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·15 days agoAstigmatism can worsen over time. If you’re having trouble, it’s probably time to update your prescription
minus-squarebrbposting@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·14 days agoOh thank goodness Today’s eye appointment scheduling day! People on Nextdoor have always recommended somebody or other. Costco’s got opticians, same as Target sometimes I think. Good luck hope it’s easy!
minus-squaredustyData@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·15 days agoPrescription glasses expire as our eyes are constantly changing. You should get your eyes checked every two years minimum.
minus-squareflicker@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·15 days agoMy prescription stopped changing in my late 20s. I’m almost 40 so I know that time is coming to an end.
minus-squareraynethackery@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·15 days agoYep, that’s when the nearsightedness and farsightedness start kicking in. That’s the age I had to get my first bifocals.🤓
minus-squareAA5B@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·15 days agoYeah, my optometrist didn’t even sugarcoat it - went right to “and of course these will be progressive lenses”. WHAT?
minus-squareHiggs boson@dubvee.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up0·15 days agoThat, or your glasses are dirty.
minus-squarepeoplebeproblems@midwest.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·15 days agoOk so That was unnecessary But thank you, I forget to do that regularly
