I use this in all areas, if the goal is communication then you want to convey a message and have a person be receptive. If you insult a person they immediately get defensive and will instinctively reject or try to combat what you’re trying to convey to them. It’s literally the opposite of what you’d want to be achieving.

The way I see it is insults are for “me,” they’re self serving in that “I” feel better about myself and feel some sort of justification for insulting you (I personally don’t, but I see the appeal.) but if the point is about communication then “I don’t matter” it isn’t about me it’s about the idea.

  • No but I want to live in a neighborhood where the houses are actually fucking affordable.

It’s so goddamn disgusting to see a house around or even under 200k and then see “55+ community only” every other house is 250k+

Why the fuck do they get to have cheap housing when the argument is always “younger people just haven’t increased their value yet but as they get older they’ll have money too.” (The implication being “don’t worry about poor young people”)

So they get to have their increased wealth and decreased housing cost?

  • The need some people have to be part of a group.

I’ve been “alone” for such a long time that it probably affects how I see things like this, but I just don’t get the need some people have. I’m thinking from things like worshipping a politician just to be part of a group to more simple things like needing to insert yourself into a group at work just to be “one of the guys.” I’ve always just done my own thing and never considered myself part of anything, whether friend groups, work “cliques,” or whatever. If it was “Tim, Tom, and Tina” I could be friends with all of them, but I never felt like I needed to be, or even ever was part of “their” group. I just come and go as the situation arises.

Some things like politics I obviously fall into one category or another based on my beliefs, but I don’t conform or alter my beliefs just to maintain a position within that group.

  • I want to somehow go back to 1998 and find young me when I still believed the internet and computers would truly make us love each other more and break down national divides and bring a greater peace to the whole world and i want to punch him square in the mouth.

    Same.

I mean Ive already given myself a black eye before, but I’d also love to go back and kick my own ass for not being a better person. Future me was never going to change anything Asafum, you dumb fuck. Now it’s just 1000x harder and 2 decades down the drain.

  • “I actually think the purpose of a Bitcoin reserve is to temporarily increase the price so tech-bros (re: Elon) can sell at a massive profit. Then buy back at a much lower price. It’s just a way to indirectly transfer federal dollars into administration pockets.”

This is the way. It’s the only reason they’d do it.

I seriously doubt BRICS has anything to do with Bitcoin, but the US is absolutely concerned about losing the status of world currency. It’s literally how we survive while running a massive deficit. When the rest of the world finds a way to do business without the US getting its cut we’re going to be in deep shit.
