I’ve started making my own bread and pizza dough. It’s also practice. The more you do it, the faster it takes. You think of ways to make it easier next time.
Costco was having a sale on those heavy duty KitchenAid mixers so I bought it and it makes dough. I’ve recently doubled the recipe and freeze half and make the other half.
Admittedly, a lot of my lessons are learned by reading which assumes you have the time already to read.
That’s a funny way to spell executive bonuses.
If the police continue to not do their job, hire an attorney (if you can afford one) to go with you. The attorney doesn’t even need to do anything except be a witness.
They tell you there’s nothing they can do because they don’t want to be bothered. And they don’t want their stats to go up.
Having an attorney present bumps it up to “being fucked by court duty is worse than doing some paperwork”. Likely nothing they can do but having the paper trail of a stalking report will help YOU should the stalker escalate.
I’m here hoping to any god that is watching that Project 2025 becomes something like a dog catching the car situation. The Republicans are the dogs and now they are arguing amongst themselves what to do with the car.
I’m planning as if Project 2025 goes forward. If civil war is in my lifetime, the shots will start with the alt-right.
There is a quote that’s been ringing through my head ever since the CEO murder: “Those who make peaceful reform impossible make violent revolution inevitable.”
The Republicans have made any meaningful reform impossible through half-assed negotiations, bad faith arguments, and “fEeLiNgS pOlItIcS” over the last 50 years.
Democrats like AOC and politicians like Bernie are the acute minority. The DNC has moved more toward the right and given workers the middle finger.
Almost every regulatory body has been captured. The overturn of the Chevron doctrine made the rest completely powerless. We now have a fucking lunatic whispering into Trump’s ear to remove accident reporting requirements for his shitty cars. We will have an anti-vaxer running the CDC, a supplement pushing hack running Medicare, and a man who overpaid for Twitter running the fucking “Department of Government Efficacy.”
This is the tip of the iceberg. They aren’t even in office yet and they are already stirring shit.
Behind the Bastards covers a few of them. IIRC Dr. Oz grew up poor and went to medical school on scholarship.
He’s not fuck you money rich like Bezos or Musk, both of which lucked into the birth lottery.
Though tbf, Oz got rich by scamming people out of their money with endorsing supplements that don’t work.
What is Twidium’s deal? They are the most expensive and take the longest.
WSL is very workable as a dev environment. I just wish it wasn’t so janky with networking.
Don’t go eating salads on day one. The biggest mistake people make is drowning their salad in dressing, which takes away from the point.
Every diet invented does exactly one thing: reducing your caloric intake. Atkins, South Beach, those diet shakes, Weight Watchers…doesn’t matter who.
The goal is to lower how many calories you consume. You don’t have to pay for this unless you believe that paying for it will help you.
Some people like the structure and others like the variety. But it doesn’t need to cost you anything.
If you are consistent, you will see the most weight loss in the first two weeks. Most people will lose 5-7 pounds almost immediately as their body adjusts to the new diet.
However this will plateau over the next few months and you will need to add additional exercise to keep your weight loss going.
Common ways people gain weight:
Yes but the biggest benefit of serverless compute is not having to maintain a server and only maintaining your code.
I’m clutching my pearls as I type this.
I can count on one hand the number of videos I’ve seen where “wait until the end” holds true.
The most recent in years is a video of a dog chewing on something. The owner approaches it and the dog lets go of a hose which then sprays the owner.
Was not expecting that.
The ole cock-thumb.
I’ve reached the point of absolutely hating rechargable batteries. Between their ghost discharge, and the fact that I don’t go through as many batteries like I used, using normal alkaline batteries seems to be the best for me anyway.
If you don’t know how to use man, just type in man man
.
What?! How?! So I can learn to avoid it!
There is a scene in Mr Robot where Darlene is able to do a full wipe on her phone without even looking at the screen.
I wish I was that good.
I want a way that I can trigger this from the main lock screen without unlocking the phone.
Like a specific pin you have to enter twice to trigger the full wipe.
The last time I was job searching, Comcast recruited me for a job. It was for way more than I was expecting but I told them that I was not going to work for them. They tried to push and ask me why and I should go through the interview process to see if I like it.
I was very frank with them. Their stance on net neutrality alone was enough for me to decline. The recruiter was surprisingly understanding and wished me luck.
