I feel like Microsoft is way more shameless about their shady stuff. They’ve been messing around with impersonating google/chrome for awhile now, they recently had that thing where they would copy all your open chrome tabs, and then when you started your computer it would open edge with all your chrome tabs to trick people into using edge instead.

I couldn’t remember the details exactly, but basically up until then they were allowing Microsoft tracking despite all their advertising claiming they wouldn’t track users.
Microsoft does so many scammy things when it comes to trying to prevent people from using Chrome/Google. Even though Edge/Bing hasn’t caught on, I really think them abusing windows dominate OS position this way should be enough for an antitrust lawsuit.
DDG was letting Bing track users. They may have stopped now that they got in trouble for it.
Ii get what you mean, but for the most part this will just inconvenience most people while also not making it any more convenient to use a competiting product.

I fully agree with that, I just don’t think it’s reached enough popularity with the public to be considered mainstream.
Just the fact that there are VR businesses that you can go and pay to play VR games with standard VR headsets is a strong suggestion that they’re still a rare novelty to most people.
Meta thought it would be the next big thing, so much that they renamed themselves “meta”. A lot of companies have been courting VR as a future big market, but we definitely haven’t seen it blow up like companies hoped it would. I wouldn’t say it’s a dead market, but I would definitely put it as more of a novelty than a mainstream success.
Wait this is in the US? How, this is even more expensive than Hawaii, and they have obvious reasons for power to be more expensive there
That seems really high, I think power where I live is about 12-14 cents per kilowatt hour. What makes it so expenses where you live?

To be honest I don’t think that’s clear at all, it feels like it’s more a rule about being skeptical of free stuff online. And many for profit companies have open source projects that can be used safely even though the source is a for-profit.
Yeah, I feel like that’s usually a very accurate saying, but it doesn’t really work with a lot of open source projects.
I hate that you’re getting downvoted by so many people who don’t realize you’re pointing out an exception to the rule, and instead think you have some fundamental misunderstanding about how Linux works.
One of my biggest pet peeves with corporate websites. It’s like they’re afraid that clearly stating what they do will prevent them from growing and doing other things as well. So instead they refuse to say anything coherent.
I was installing chrome on a work computer, and windows defender was automatically flagging the chrome installer (official, directly from google) as malware and deleting it automatically as soon as it was downloaded. It wasn’t blacklisted for very long, I was able to download it without issues the next day, but I always have wondered if that was something they were testing out on purpose or not.
