Xanax turns off a different portion of the brain. It feels more like “nothing can bother me”. If I’ve taken Xanax for my panic attacks, the house could be on fire and I’d be the dog with the coffee cup.
Alcohol always tends to feel like a cover up for emotions rather than a clearing out effect, hence why some people get emotional while drinking. Similar, but different at the same time.
I’m prescribed Xanax, but the lowest dose. It’s for my panic attacks, and it is an extremely fast acting, very effective drug that calms you down. I kind of just makes you not care about much and a little drowsy. I can imagine that in large doses, it would make one feel pretty damn good.

My problem is I get in a cycle of staying up late, then needing to take a nap the next day, but then not being tired to go to bed at night, so I stay up late. When I can break that cycle, it only lasts a few days.
I saw this on Amazing Race back in they day. I still gag thinking about it.
You can get a US passport card. It only works for Canada Mexico and some Caribbean islands though. The tech is already there.

It happens all the time. You just have to be willing to put yourself out there a bit. You’re probably not going to have an interaction like you see in the movies where you bump into someone and go all googoo eyes and hear the angels sing, but you can absolutely start a conversation and see where it goes. The key is that you can’t expect anything to happen for you, you have to be willing to initiate interactions too.
The only harm is using too much. My mother-in-law has ruined multiple washing machines over the years. She doesn’t understand that modern high efficiency machines require very little detergent and proceeds to clog them up with too much.
I literally had to teach my wife how to do laundry correctly when we got married so she wouldn’t ruin the washing machine.
I read somewhere that when the pair who were husband and wife went up, officially on record, no they didn’t do the deed.
Other astronauts who have been asked about the couple answer it “well there wasn’t too much privacy, so it’d be difficult”. Not exactly a no.
