People actually use the tv remotes? I used it for setup then took the batteries out and dropped it in a drawer somewhere.

HDMI-CEC does all the input selection and on/off that I need. I don’t use the TV for sound. I don’t use any ‘smart’ function of the tv at all. That’s all offloaded onto some other streaming box of your choice. If I watch something physical then I have to walk up and put a disc in the player anyway and doing that kicks on the TV and receiver etc.

I don’t have a cable/dish/whatever package. My parents do and the set top boxes have their own remotes and you can get those to control the tv if need be. A remote stops working? Call the company and they send you a new one. They own the set top box most of the time and that includes the remote for it…make them replace it.

I’m in the minority I guess cause I was happy about this. I hated having to install iTunes just to back up/restore phones. I wanted the full encrypted backup. iCloud doesn’t do that.

Others have pretty much mentioned it. Too thin of conductors for the total length required which can overload the cable and heat it up. If you’re just charging your phone it’s unlikely to cause a problem but the more amps you pull the riskier it gets.

Edit: Even at harbor freight (cheap hardware store) a 50ft 12 gauge extension cord is about $40 and weighs 7 pounds.

I dunno about you but I don’t play every genre of game. So like 70-80% of those are off the table immediately. I’d also be curious how many of those are the drop in the bucket nsfw games that get released every few days. Really need to toggle the ‘adult’ setting on my Steam account. Although sometimes the title alone is gold like ‘Hitler: BDSM Bunker’…
