Those Mac vs PC ads need to return.
Dit is een bio. C’est un bio.
Those Mac vs PC ads need to return.
Friendly reminder: before people liked XP, people hated XP. Much of the criticism that applied to Vista at launch also applied to XP. Guess which one is looked back at more fondly.
And I actually thought Vista was good. Leagues better than XP even. It served me well for 3 years. Now I don’t even use Windows anymore.
I thought it couldn’t get any worse.
What a shame. It’s almost like the biggest companies make the worst crap or something.
That too is pretty accurate.
I hate it when a small handful of people ruin the fun for everyone.
No one cares about other sports in my country so the football hooligans (or soccer hooligans as you call them) only get more attention.
I miss when it was a luxury. Pretty fun times if you ask me.
It’s the only one that let’s you play as two racers at a time. No other game in the series does this.
So the answer is yes.
The Jerboa Lemmy client, and Mastodon’s official client. I think they’re both fine enough for my fediverse browsing needs.
While I am trying to use the internet less since the past 2 years or so, I will freak out if it ceases to exist completely.
“Be yourself.” is an excellent summary of your post description.
Fun fact: I deleted Twitter exactly 23 days before it was renamed to X. I was just tired of scrolling through drama.
“Dammit, my tape is stuck inside the VCR again!”
“99 cents for a song? Hell yeah. I’m never buying CDs again.” (A reference to the iTunes Music Store launch)
“I ran out of free AOL time. Better get another demo disc”
Speaking of AOL, “yo, what’s your AIM screenname?” (Replace “AIM” with your favorite messaging service at the time if you used that)
“Mom, can I have a PlayStation 2? -No. -But it plays DVDs.”
“Oh, I can’t wait to see the wonderful New York Twin Towers, I’m so excited for what’s coming!” (I was too young to even remember the concept of different countries existing so I had no idea what “America” even was, let alone being confused about 9/11)
“I got slimed. It was so. Much. Fun.”
“I’m so glad the United Kingdom won Eurovision, I can’t wait to see how the next year’s contest will turn out. Katrina was so amazing” (1997 was the last time the UK won)
“What a wonderful Saturday morning. Time to watch some cartoons.”
“My phone has a NiCd battery, and it’s almost out of juice so I can’t just plug it in because I will ruin the battery. I have to wait until it literally turns off.”
“Belgrade is the capital of Yugoslavia”
“Finally got my fresh new copy of Mac OS X. Time to see what’s it’s like.” proceeds to stay on OS 9 for a few more years
That’s all I can think of.
Actually starting to learn music production. I’ve had this passion for so long yet laziness has prevented me from developing it.
They literally acquired the Alien Blue client, which at the time was the best Reddit client according to many people, and used it as the base for their official client. How on earth did they fuck it up this badly??
I never used Apollo since I was stuck on Android. But I still wish I had the chance to use it while it was available.
I have a very similar experience, I only left because I noticed just how awful the website has turned by the time the API fiasco happened, and I was definitely getting a bit addicted to the website so leaving essentially made me combat this addiction. I haven’t logged into Lemmy for over a month. Yeah, it has definitely helped me cut down on social media usage.
Given that this website has experienced the Reddit migration (I am one of those migrants), it has definitely started to feel a bit like Reddit, but it still differs in a lot of ways. There’s less bots, actually engaging conversations, actual content. To me, this website continues to capture the vibe of the early Web2 days of the internet in a way that Reddit clearly moved away from, definitely so that its executives can make more of them monies. It feels a bit nostalgic in a way, and that’s what I like about this website.
Same here. My city’s buildings are not made with missile protection in mind. We don’t even have basements for tornado protection since tornados barely ever happen here. And if an earthquake strikes, you’re basically doomed to live in a tent for the next decade of your life assuming you survive.
I hate Morocco so much.
This year, I didn’t do anything at all. I actually slept through it.
However in 2021, my mom almost burned the house down. She was very distracted with video calls while the fries are cooking, and then I suddenly noticed a bright orange glow in my window. She quickly tried putting it out and successfully pulled it off, albeit with a few second degree burns. If I didn’t see that glow, I wouldn’t even be here right now.
I meant that I thought the garbage situation in my country was bad enough, I didn’t expect something worse.
