Except it’s not really “freedom of speech?” You can’t normally say someone is mentally ill - the verbiage is that you can specifically only call LGBT people mentally ill.

The meds I’m on control them (although I’ve basically got no information from doctors on why I had them/what could be done to prevent them in the future - medical care here is not great). I’d rather not drive, but there is no public transport where I live and I need to hold down a job.

I started having double vision (and have a history of seizures). I drove myself to the Urgent Care, who told me to drive to the ER, who let a medical student look at me for fifteen minutes, and then sent me home (I drove back).

With Tuskegee, the conspiratorial claim is often made that the men were deliberately infected. They were “just” not informed of their infected status and discouraged from seeking medical care elsewhere. This meant that they often ended up infecting their families.

I understand Black conspiracy theorists who have elaborate claims about Tuskegee - it was such a monstrous action and violation of trust that it is difficult to balance not minimizing it with being clear about what did/did not happen.

Capitalist society doesn’t create a framework for healthy sleep. It’s tolerated as something that we do to function. We aren’t making money when we are asleep. With hourly work, the maintenance needed to keep a body going isn’t compensated.

Pre modern folks used to have different sleeping schedules than we did - often it was sleeping for a few hours in the evening, waking up a little after midnight, having sex/reading/small chores, and then falling back asleep. (It’s important to be careful when generalizing all of human culture, but I think this is one thing that is relatively universal.) That doesn’t work with the “must extract labor as efficiently as possible from every human” model.

Encyclopedia Dramatica was KnowYourMeme but for teenage boys who think calling some one a fggt/goatse is the peak of comedy. The “offended” page was just a lot of shock imagery - gay porn, gore, vomit, shit (iirc it also played stuff at max volume). It’d be linked on articles that were less than nice.
