I didn’t know those were a comic thing. The Flag Smashers were so bad and stupid I buried them in my memory. I saw them less as a political group and more as delusional extremists mad their economic situation went in the toilet because people who were dead suddenly weren’t. Killed children over “borders bad”. Boy do I hate that part of the show.

Was your impression that the DA sister was a liberal? She was always doing her part to put people in jail, just didn’t tolerate the police cutting corners. She always put her family first as well, corrupt as hell.

It’s a shame the show is such a good concept. I loved watching what was essentially an every day look into this police dynasty but boy did it get unbearably boot licky over time. The old man telling his stories of how he used to not give a fuck as an old cop from the 60s was always funny (and explains how the family has always been this “privileged” strata).

Wow is this me? Same situation, but conflicted because even though I find him an awful person he’s always provided for my family and continues to let me live rent free. We probably interact once a week.

This is always an option. You don’t have to force it. As a personal example, I love pretty much everyone in my family but I don’t share any of their interests. Just talk with your son and be supportive like how the poster says. Who knows, might find some common interest eventually.

Gift any super moddable games he likes. If he enjoys Bethesda games on consoles, he will definitely love PC only mods. Also explain to him what Big Picture Mode on Steam is. I wish I knew it existed when I started. Get the same console experience and seamless controller integration even if the game doesn’t officially support it.

Edit: Also any super pretty games would probably be a nice gift. Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the first I installed. Really nice realizing how much better looking games can be with a powerful computer.
