No. I watched a video recently of one of the best figure tutors around. Upset with AI. As he critiqued them, multiple times he struggled to tell if it was AI or not. Now, if one of the top YouTube figure drawing instructors struggled at times to identify the difference in his attack against the tech, I’m pretty comfortable saying that it can absolutely move you.
This response assumes an artist wants to be a professional artist, that wants to make a living from it. There are MANY artists, that have no interest of turning their source of joy, into a source of income, and all that comes with it.
I disagree strongly on that argument. I’ve seen many examples of AI generated images that have genuinely made me stop, and shake my head in amazement.
I’m waiting for that new Intel gear.

I was a commercial artist (animator in AAA studio).
I sold my art, and paid for it with my own soul.
Burnt out.
Now I sketch for joy, not money.
I worked in a first party, AAA gaming studio, back in the day.
We had the Maya sales dipshits, and a handful of Maya developers come to our studio, to ‘listen’. Maybe 5 or so in total. How they can improve, and help us, kind of thing.
Our tech team ripped them a new asshole. Asked why 5 year old bug X wasn’t fixed, when our internal team created a workaround in a couple of days.
Read them the riot act.
They made sympathy and apology noises.
They left. Nothing happened.
Just total corporate, bullshit.
They just, don’t, care.
Just because they’re a for profit corporation, doesn’t mean they’re going to deliver.
They’re not in trouble. They’ve just become used to fat wads, and that’s ok.
Every corporate clamouring over them the last few years, to show how inclusive they were.
So, once you get used to that, you get used to that.
That’s all it is.

I can stay sharp all afternoon, and right up to bed time, with just a very fast nap in the afternoon. I’m all for it.
