Who are the “fact checkers”?

Why are people upset at this? Who is stupid enough to trust fact checkers or community notes on social media? Read a real news site for facts.

I maintain open source software on a much smaller codebase that is less security critical. We have dozens of maintainers on a project with about 3k stars on GitHub. Stuff gets by that are potentially security vulnerabilities and we don’t know until upstream sources tell us there is a vulnerability

The small brained “you can’t yell fire in a movie theater” argument so we don’t have free speech is the intellectual equivalent of Jeff Bezos is poor because he drives a ‘93 Honda civic.

Varies state to state and city to city, but my city has the majority of that list… plus the freedom of speech is nice. When I read the news about people in Europe going to prison for comments online but getting slapped on the wrist for violent crimes I’m baffled.

Literally everything Taika watiti touches turns to shit. I don’t understand his appeal. He’s like a 14 year old in the head that can’t take anything seriously. I know if I’m watching one of his shows or movies it’s just going to be lame joke after lame joke and then at some point he will remember he needs to get a story in and rush everything.

Also, I can’t stand anything JJ Abram’s touches. I know a lot of people say that now post StarWars disaster, but I remember being very disappointed when I heard he was directing the first sequel and people were acting like I was crazy. I absolutely hate his “mystery box” story telling because I either never cared about “item A” or I know the payoff for discovering what “item A” actually is I’d going to be lame.

Because your dipshit Director, who came from a consulting firm like BCG or McKenzie and who couldn’t manage to throw together a “Hello, world” script in python now believes he is an expert in all tech because he read a medium article by a boot camp grad of some 8 week React course and thinks that giving Palantir Foundry $3 million a year to do basic ETL that was done previously by a couple junior devs is somehow “safer” than “writing custom code”, and by “custom code” I mean utilizing Apache Spark, Polars, and other open source tooling that Palantir Foundry is also utilizing, but charging you 40,000% more to use.
