Yeah Good point. the storage is the most expensive part. I did find these SSDs at a good price and with high reviews on Amazon which would cost $356 for 4 before taxes (a little better that 480€, but not by much).

Edit: Another thought would be to use the sata hat on the pi and get some sort of adapter to work with the platter drives but that would just add in the complexity and would likely require a PC power supply for the drives which would also add costs.

Buy second hand, don’t buy new unless you know that the company is trying to solve climate change. Example, at Honolulu there’s a company that is setting up water filling stations on some hotels and providing these hotels with aluminum bottles for the folks staying in the hotel so hotels can provide water to their guests and stop plastic pollution.

Oh for sure, fuck those places. I rather order from a small mom & pop restaurant than from some corpo chain. I just mentioned Chili’s because OP sounded like convenience was important and ordering from an app and just going to pick up seems universally convinient. Most companies aren’t allocating nearly enough funds to their website teams for responsive web pages that using their apps is a better experience, and that’s by design.

But to clearly summarize your question, apps unless they are just a web app in a app container (looking at you Farmer’s insurance)
